What it is Lanolin Cream and How to Use It?

When you need to heal your dry, cracked skin, there’s nothing better than a lanolin cream. It’s a natural substance that works to moisturize and protect your skin, but how do you apply it? And what is a lanolin cream? Read on to find out.

Lanolin cream is basically a natural moisturizer that you can use on your skin. It comes from sheep’s wool, and it’s often used for people who have dry skin or chapped lips. You can use it in place of regular lotion, or you can add it to your existing moisturizing routine if you prefer something more natural. It’s important to note that this cream isn’t just for use on skin. You can also use it on your hair to keep it moisturized and shiny, or you can add a little bit to your laundry as an alternative to fabric softener.

When should lanolin be used?

If your skin feels really dry or irritated after using other products like soap or shampoo on your body, then using a small amount of lanolin cream before bed will help relieve some of those symptoms. You should only use lanolin on areas of your body that are dry, such as the soles of your feet or the backs of your hands. You should not use it if you have any cuts, scrapes or other wounds on your skin; these wounds need to be cleaned and bandaged separately before applying lanolin.

How Do I Use Lanolin Cream on My Nipples?

It’s important to wash your hands thoroughly before applying lanolin cream to your nipples—you don’t want any bacteria from other parts of your body getting into your baby’s mouth while they’re feeding! Once they’re clean, just apply a small amount (about one centimeter in diameter) directly to each nipple before each feeding session. You should do this once every hour during feedings until your cracked nipple heals completely

When using this cream, make sure you are buying 100% pure wool fat or lanolin (not just any old petroleum jelly). Two such creams are: Lansinoh and PureLan100. You only need to use about a pea-sized amount of cream and you don’t have to remove it before breastfeeding. These creams will sooth your breasts and give you a little relief; however, they will not cure cracked nipples. For that, you need to wait and let them heal themselves.

You can use it as often as you need to, but it’s a good idea to check with your doctor first. Some people are allergic or sensitive to lanolin, so it’s important that you’re aware of your own body’s reaction before using this product. Rest, and a good, healthy diet will promote repair and healing.
